The myth
The Greeks remember Gaia as the Earth itself, the first-born of Chaos, mother of the mountains, the sea and the sky. Everything that walks, walks upon her.
In the Arena
In the Arena, Gaia has no need to choose between vertices and sides: every tile belongs to her. The warrior she carries glides across five tiles, by point or by edge, as one glides across the palm of a hand. Amarok and Ziz, the two runners, are only the two halves of her stride.
In play
The warrior moves up to 5 tiles through a vertex or a side, in a straight line.
